What Is So Appealing About Car Donation?
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009The first thought that comes into mind when someone mentions the aspect of car donation is who in their right mind would want to donate a car? Well, there are a number of reasons that intrigue people to donate their car and participate in charity.
Some people have a philanthropic spirit and seek to contribute to a charitable cause by donate a car that they no longer require. For others this alone is not a reason good enough to donate their car. In some cases people have old and busted vehicles occupying valuable space in their garages. Because of lack of finances they cannot afford to repair the car and incur additional advertising costs that would be necessary if they wanted to sell the car. Hence they resort to car donation centers which are more than eager to accept non-working cars as charity to support the cause. How this benefits the donor is that the donation center will actually come to the premises and remove the vehicle for no cost whatsoever. In terms of financial difficulty this seems like an ideal opportunity.
There is yet another factor that makes car donation appealing to individuals. This is the aspect of tax deductions. When you donate car to a registered donation center or charity organization you are entitled to receive a tax break. This is calculated on the basis of the fair market value of the particular car that you donate.
The above-mentioned aspects associated with the process of car donation tend to appeal to the people who do not have any other alternative way of getting rid of their vehicle and getting a tax break.
